Going down to Mombasa.

We drove down to Mombasa to spend some time at home while we waited on our work permits. Nick, mom, I lexxi, Ethan and Katie and in the other car Kevin, Miriam with Micah, Kaleb and Krista. Mombasa is not too far away but it took a while to get there because of the trailer. Kevin so kindly let us borrow his trailer but it had flat after flat on the way down because of the rough roads. He hauled all our bags. What a kind brother! :)

This is the toilet... Choo that we used.

This is a truck we past... poor guys. Made us think of our bro in law Dusty, he is a trucker and he would laugh so hard if he could just see some of the trucks here, anything is allowed on the roads as long as it moves... and doesn't matter how fast or what is on it. haha.

We had a few things sent out in a container that my grandfather was sending out. We unpacked it to repack it!!?? So that when it got time for us to load up a trailer to take to Dar it would all be right there in front.

lexxi and Micah playing with the puppies. Mom and dad gave us their two doberman, ridge back puppies. They are so cute! Kava and Koko.

Mombasa Beach in the morning... We went one day to the beach to put Kevin's boat in the water and spend the day there. It was a hot day, but the kids had a great time with the boat. We swam up at Nyali beach hotel and Micah split his head open on the side of the pool. Poor kid had to sit out of the water for the rest of vacation.

The dingy on Kevin's car.

Here is Micah eating masala chips while waiting to go to the hospital. He didn't even cry until his parents came. It was a big gash. brave boy got quite a few stitches.

Getting to see Rachel and Cheryl! These ladies were our bestest of friends growing up. A reunion with them feels like we have never been apart. They are twins and now both have their own little one. So cute!

The four of us now and back then!

NEW YEARS

We had a brie at the neighbors house. It was really good food. The kids did a few bottle rockets and sparklers then they went to bed.

We then went to Nyali beach to watch the fireworks the hotel puts on. They were beautiful. The best I have seen is being out in a boat on new years when the whole coast line starts shooting off. All the hotels have many guests at New years so it is a big deal. It is quite a beautiful site.

It was just a few of us that went to watch on the public beach.

THE DAY AFTER...

We went to Yuls for pizza with the kids. It has really good pizza and even better ice cream! Everyone was tired.

The Horne family was there. Always fun to see them.

Just hanging out while everyone played on the beach.

The two beautiful camels that Lexxi badly wanted to ride.

It was a hot day... just look at that sun!
