An hour out of Babati we broke down. It sounded like a flat tire but it wasnt. Soon we discovered that the steering shaft thingy under the car had lost its bolt and in order to drive the car we needed a new one or to find our old one. Nick set off tracing our tracks to see if he could see it. About 30 mins later He comes back with two men just as the Lord placed a Baptist missionary Kenya man in our path. He was the only Nissan Patrol that we had seen the whole time on our trip! His car was just like ours so we could look at his and figure out how to fix ours. His name was Jerry and he took Nick and the fundi with him to get what they needed too to fix the car then he brought them back!! He was on his way to Singida. You never know who you are going to meet when you brake down! The kids were great, they were making rock cities out of the rocks and sand. Later they found a bunch of kids by the river... they were so nice to them. The kids are really picking up this language and embrassing this culture very well. One man told me that the kids needed to be careful with the thorns from the acacia trees, that with those mixed with the manure on the ground they could get tetanus, since all they had on was flipflops.

The town of Katesh.

The kids waiting then playing. Under the car, Jerries car and the nights sky on our way home.

The kids and their new friends. One kid said he knew English and then started jabbering in fun. Everyone laughed and thought it was funny but they were really sweet. On our way out the only thing we had left were pringle's so we gave them a tube to share.
Even though it would have been a long night if we would have had to camp there with our car we were prepared! God is so good and He takes care of His children! We made it to Arusha at 8:30 and stopped to eat at the closest restaurant we could find. The coffee lodge. I have never felt so tired that I didnt think we could make it home and still do everything we needed too before we hit the bed. But We did and man did we sleep in the next day!! Friday was clean up day and started the endless job of laundry. :) What a great trip though and so much fun being out in the bush and villages. I Love that stuff!
