Brakenhurst and Malaywa

We stopped for tea at Hunters Lodge. A few hours outside of Nairobi. Dad went on to go to the airport while we went to Java house ate lunch then headed out to Malaywa... Past Kijabe.

That's a real elephant foot-table. It was huge. All these years of stopping here and I just noticed it. :0l

The cousins.

It was a full cottage. It was not just our lot, we were joined often with the Hanson kids, Brogden kids and Hoving kids during the day. The kids had a blast with the pool, the hot tub, the slip n slide into the river and the zip line. Not to mention all the games they played on the lawn and the fireworks they so courageously played with. :0l We were there for 3 nights. We also got to meet with the Arensens. Ried I went to scool together at Rift and I feel like I have known Sandy for years since I follow her blog and think she is super cool, so I was really excited to get to see them and maybe see how we can work together on some things this year. New years was a full house too. With all those families joining us for food and fun.

They don't know when they will all be togeher again. But they are all so cute and getting sooo big!!
On the 2nd of January vacation was over and meetings began again. We had a security training confrence for all missies for a few days then core values for a few days. It was a week long thing with all East Africa fields. Good to see some old and new faces.

Held at Brakenhurst... Lexxi used to call it Dragenhurst. This is where we have always had our meetings. Many fond memories here too.

The facilities have improved over the years.

The kids were just exhausted after it was all over. This is Ethan Saturday morning. It took a lot to get him to get up and going. Mostly everyone had left. We headed to Nakumatt to get some food for the trip and then headed out to Kitengela glass factory.

We met this cool artist guy who lives out there and makes guitars... custom made ones. He had some really cool and unique pieces of sculptures too. Such a crafty hippy place to be. But very unique and very artistic.

We studied the Kiln as much as we could, but the main mama wasnt around that day so we are going to see about going back some time to stay and learn how we can do it our selves here. We then headed on our way at 1 something and arrived in Arusha at 4:30. It was so good to be home after weeks of being away. However being gone for that long there are bound to be issues at home. Our dogs ate our lovebirds, Nick was really sick and Lexxi had left her homework in Mombasa. :) But it was a great time away and we are slowly recovering... Working hard on getting the guest house finished inbetween all the things Nick is having to do jumping back into work. As many people say and my sister reminded me yesterday- TIA That is Africa. :) As always after every trip we thank the Lord for the safety that he provides. With all the miles we cover in all of our journey's one can only be thankful when we make it home safely.
Happy New Year everyone, May the Lord bless you and give you favor as you seek Him.
