A picture at the Entry of what happened when Meru exploded... It blew out the back side of itself.

It was such a windy day the kids wanted to show just how windy! lol

Ethan and Lexxi, 8 and 11.

Setting up camp... because the elevation is high there was not many scary animals around. But wort hogs were in our camp. That night we had a assigned guard to our camp. It was kind of annoying as he listened to his radio and talked loudly on his phone. I didnt sleep well the whole night just knowing someone with a gun was around!! Our meals were great, I love our camping cuisine, something that we have perfected over the years of doing this. It was nice and cold in the morning and we enjoyed our day drive up the mountain.

Entertaining one another!

They thought it was a big tree! Wait till they see the red woods in Cali, maybe this next year!?

We saw birds, monkeys, Baboons, Zebra, Mpala, Giraffe's and lots of flamingos...

Big Mommella Lake. Such a high floride count!

The closest we got to the ash cone.

That is the ash cone below the pic of Nick and I. We hiked to some falls and enjoyed exploring the beauty of it all.

Our family pic.

On our way home we stopped in for tea at the Negera Sero Mountain lodge. It was our first time and it was really pretty. The house belonged to the Germans. A man named August Leudorf. They had old photos of what it was like and how they restored it. The main building is still very much the same. It is a lodge. The kids went swimming in their pool as we had tea on the front poarch. Good way to end a camping trip.

I think this looks like him?!

The pool is old.

They had horses, Lexxi loved looking at them.

A lake that used to be full of fish. Even the old fishing rods are hanging on the wall.

Then and now.

An old coin was found when renovating the garden. It hangs on the wall aswell.
We had a great little day break. It take a lot of prep or and planning for just a night out camping but the kids so love it and I believe its our last time this term to get to do that. Maybe stateside next?!
