OK so we started waiting in line in January. It is now March. And we just got our license yesterday March 13th. lol They have updated the new cards from a small book which is all handwritten and stamped to a real dl card. It is great but the only thing is that without electricity or network they cannot do anything!
You have to stand in line to get a form, fill it out stand in another line, where everyone keeps cutting line... then have your biometrics (finger prints and photos taken) done which needs electricty and network. For almost 2 weeks the network was down. Thennnnn you have to go to the police station which is a block away and wait in line there. THEN to the bank, wait in line there and pay. Then BACK to the first line 2 weeks later to pick it up. It is just crazy.
So many poeple just waiting around believing the network will just come back on any min. We made lots of friends standing in line... people thinking we were funny for not letting other people cheat or cut line. we were 22 in line the first day and after an hour were at 26 in line? Thats when we noticed this cannot happen anymore. So we kept an eye out and became the askaris. (guards) : ) It was great fun. I somehow do love days like that of being in a place with lots of strangers and there is some interaction that brings you all together. lol
However we have to do it all over again in 3 years. Yay.
