This last weekend.

Thursday it was raining when I picked up the kids from school... we came home and really enjoyed tea time. Then a few mins later I realized we were all reading... for about an hour and a half. It was wonderful! We then went in to town to meet Nick for dinner at Addis in Dar. After dinner we waited at the electricity company for an hour and 45 mins to get someone to come to our house to fix our electricity. We have had low power for 3 days... everything in the freezer was about to be gone if our neighbors had not returned when they did from Spain. They have been wonderful people and let us keep our food in their freezer. It was really late when we got home but no luck with the power. Friday was labor day... the kids were home, we took the dogs to the beach. Kava loves the water. Koko... not so much. The kids really enjoyed getting their dogs in the water. It was just for an hour, the sun was so hot. I went and pleeded with the landlord to help get power back to full strength. We could not use any appliance in case it would blow. Thankfully whoever got through to Tenesco... the Landlord or our 29 phone calls! lol.
Saturday we took the kids to the sokoni... we want them to experience it too. Its fun and there is all kind of stuff and people to meet. The kids were smelling the dead fish and yelling out... mom don't buy these there are spiders living in them! They were jealous that a little girl had two roosters in their bag. They wanted to get some too... not this time.

Sunday...

One of our staff is getting Married! So they had an announcement for the Aurousi. Where the man and woman come to the front... stoic as can be.... and everyone goes to the front and loads them with Kanga's and money. Then she bows while he puts the ring on her finger. It was cool. And because it was a friend it meant that much more. We were happy to finally meet the mystery woman. We praise the Lord for good staff. God has been so good to provide wonderful people to help us. I have to admit it was hard going to church Sunday... Nick had to sit in front right next to the loud speaker. I am afraid he will be deaf by the time he is 35. I had such a bad headache that I had to go out for a while and sit across the way in the shade. It was nice... I could still hear and I also got to talk to some mamas with their little ones. The kids went to swahili sunday school. I think they are getting bold enough to just get past the language barrier! I am so proud when they say... "mom can we go?!" lol. I love it. I have great kids! Thank you God.
