A little of last week...

Church last week was near our house... Lighthouse. We go there 3 times a month. It is all in Swahili. Nick and I sit there with out dictionaries out just in case we have to look up a word. It is great practice for us. The kids really don't get anything out of it because of the language barrier. The kids get along well with the other kids because kids have a way of communicating without speaking so much. It is harder for them to understand anything taught by the teacher. On days like these though we have church at home before hand so they do get something out of the day!
We are thankful that the kids have HOPAC, where they learn so much scripture in their bible classes. Also thankful we can go to Ocean once a month to get in some good English preaching and friendly fellowship time with the Expat community. It is a good balance.

This last week the missionary wives took a trip to the second hand clothing stalls in Dar. We bought a few things and enjoyed a local cup of tea and a chapati for breakfast. We do not get together that often so it was nice to be able to do something we all thought was fun and local. Plus just having something newish, it might be second hand but hey its about all you can get for walmart prices here. You have to really hunt and look though to find anything really nice. But paying 2 bucks for a shirt.. I think is worth it!?!
