The Durable Rat.

A panya trap. Rat trap.

A few weeks ago we had a rat in our house. I had woken up sometime in the night to use the loo and saw it run from the shower to under the counter. I immediately woke Nick up with my scream! We turned all the lights on and tried for some time to get it. Chasing it all over our bedroom. Finally we locked it in the bathroom and waited until morning.
Somehow our door got opened the next day, we were eating dinner and Ethan just said... did you see that? Something just ran across the room! Nick had two sticks in hand I had one and a flash light. It ran everywhere. Finally Nick got it cornered at one end of a hallway. All of a sudden it started running towards me. In anticipation of it going to touch me I jumped but either the rat slowed down or I jumped too early because when I came down my foot landed on the rat. yep all 120 pounds of me! That didn't stop him. I was so scared it was going to turn around and bite me that a jumped up again and dove. Landing and sliding on the floor. My elbow and hip were the worst off. Not to mention the flashlight I was holding! Shortly after I was on the floor I jumped up thinking that it was coming for me. I am sure it looked pretty funny. Me riding a rat and reacting the way I did. Lexxi saw what had happened. She quickly asked if I was ok and then, before I could answer, started giggling, then laughing and finally saying that was the funniest thing she had ever seen! So glad I could entertain my family like that. However, the rat was caught and given to the dogs. My bruses lasted for a little over a week. :0(
