The Manor.

Nick and I just recently won a free vacation at a lodge near the Ngorongoro crater. It was SO beautiful. Our friends, Ian and Cyska Haynes took care of the kids for us for 2 nights while we got to go away. It was something we would have never have be able to experience if it was not a gift! Nick and I never win anything so this was a wonderful raffle prize from the kids school.

All food and lodgeing free for us.

The sign posts. The entrance and the reception.

The main house with the living room, theatre room, snooker table and a dining room in the cellar.

Our room. It was sooo beautiful. Coffee fields surrounding the grounds.

view off our porch.

Our home for the two nights! I took a bath 6 times in 2 days. It was cold and the bath was so warm!

It had a pool area but we did not go swimming! so cold.

The first meal was set up for us in the garden. The food was increadible! The rest of the times they put us in different places. Everytime was different. Around 3 we decided to go horse riding.

These were our horses.

We just took a stroll aroud the coffee plantations. The terrain was not ideal for running.

lol I told Nick that he looked like a Polo player. After that I saw so many photos that he had taken of himself! lol cheeky guy.

Nick and I.

That evening we got cleaned up for dinner and enjoyed dinner by a fire in the main logde. The sun going down was so beautiful.

The next day we went for a walk in the muddy fields. Elephants and Buffalos had been roaming around. We had lunch and then spent the afternoon playing scrabble and yahtzee. I did get a massage too! I felt so spoiled.

We had a wonderful night, the next morning we headed back home. Two nights away was perfect! It is so good to have time as a couple without the kids sometimes. We dont do it enough but I guess if we do it like this then the wait is worth it! lol

Going back home from Karatu.

Nick and I. Behind us is Lake Manyara.
